Or as the nun who disapproves of Maria?

Oh, I love that y'all are casting the youth. I didn't dare, since I know few age-appropriate stars. Maybe if Hailee Steinfeld was a little older, she could be Liesl. Or Dakota Fanning?Walter L. I'm not sure which child they'd play, but I'm inclined to add Dakota Fanning and Freddie Highmore in there somewhere.

Also, I recant.. Baroness... January Jones. Imagine that. Wow. I'm loving this film in the Casting Coup feature. :)Peter Chanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08703260082728889704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322835765225560186.post-55268043058449234332011-02-21T19:15:38.788-08:002011-02-21T19:15:38.788-08:00Oh yes! Is the obvious choice of Anne Hathaway too easy?

And a VERY outside the box thinking, I would love to see what Lucy Liu can do with a role like the Baroness.

Let's cast the kids!!!.... and Rolf! :)Peter Chanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08703260082728889704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322835765225560186.post-50619915678873924822011-02-19T07:46:48.458-08:002011-02-19T07:46:48.458-08:00Lots to sink my teeth into here!
You are a brave ...Lots to sink my teeth into here!

You are a brave soul, Walter, re-thinking what to some is an almost sacred work!

Love your choices of Lansbury and Rush!

Actually, in regard to age-appropriateness, Andrews was only 4 years older than Pill is now when Andrews shot the film in 1965 (Andrews was about 30; Pill will be around 26).

Can't have the "parental figures" too young to have a daughter that's 16 going on 17! (grin).

If you and I were to re-make "The Sound of Music", why not make it really subversive! As Captain Von Trapp, how about Dot-Marie Jones, from Glee, in a straightforward male lead (like Linda Hunt in "Year...") Question is, can she sing? if not, time to find the male equivalent of Marni Nixon.

Anyway this was great, and huge fun, and the studios ought to utilize your talents before long!

(By the way, I saw it in theaters too... Sigh...VERY young, BTW lol)TomShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16718198770348083155noreply@blogger.com
