A Parker Pause

 Resume
by Dorothy Parker

Razors pain you;
Rivers are damp;
Acids stain you;
And drugs cause cramp.
Guns aren't lawful;
Nooses give;
Gas smells awful;
You might as well live.

Keep writing, my friend. Listen to Dorothy!

I heard a poet recently say that the i-Pod might save the art of poetry...the short length of the works, as well as diminishing attention spans, allow poems read out loud to be programmed easily on a playlist.
