The 1973 Longlists!

All right, you late-night fans of cinema and the Silver Screening Room. Here it is: the long-awaited (?) longlists for the 1973 Retro Hollmann Awards!



As mentioned earlier, I saw 64 films, 24 of which were nominated for Academy Awards. Of those 64, 54 are named here. I play by the old-school BAFTA rules, where there are 15 finalists in each of my 18 categories; the one exception is Visual Effects, which only has 10.

I love doing longlists. They help me gather my thoughts, and they invite speculation and conversation. Broken record, I know, but: I miss the BAFTA ones! They were always good for a surprise or three.
